Grind coffee for your moka pot. Use a grind that is between an espresso grind and drip grind.
Fill the bottom chamber of the Moka pot with fresh water, up to but not covering the valve.
Place the filter in the bottom chamber of the moka pot, and fill with ground coffee.
Level the coffee grounds with a spoon or your finger. Do not pack the coffee. Make sure that there are no grounds along the rim, as this will interfere with the seal.
Screw on the moka pot’s spouted top, and place on the stove at medium heat, being careful to keep the handle away from the heat.
As the water in the bottom chamber approaches a boil, the pressure will push a stream of coffee through the upper chamber. The moka pot is finished when it makes a bubbling sound. Turn off heat source and keep lid closed until brewing is complete.
