Cupping Room Collection | Myanmar Hta Min Paung

This Myanmar microlot is produced by 18 farmers in the Hta Min Paung village, most of whom own less than a hectare of land. The majority of the farmers are women (there are only two men in the group), and the group uses much of its profits for the development of the village, including an ongoing project to build a monastery. Fresh From the Roastery :: Brazil Sitio Rocinha

Grown at Sitio Rocinha by Demétrio Flaviano de Oliveira, this coffee is selectively harvested, only when the fruits are ripe. Harvested by hand over cloths to protect the coffee from coming in contact with the ground, it is taken to the patio for drying on the same day.   Demétrio is the third generation of coffee growers in his family, following his mother and grandfather, who bought the farm in the 1960’s. Coming Soon: Rwanda Single Origin Grown by Hingakawa Women's Association

In honor of Women’s History Month, and International Women’s Day (March 8) we’re featuring the producers of our soon-to-be-released Single Origin coffee. Grown in the northern province of Gekenke, the Rwanda Hingawkawa is a premium lot grown by a group of women who have organized themselves as the Hingawkawa Women’s Association. In Kinyarwanda, Hingakawa means “let’s grow coffee”.   The Hingakawa Women's Association is part of the Abakundakawa Cooperative, a fair-trade farmers group whose name translates to “those who love coffee”, and produces some of the finest coffees in Rwanda.
